I been hearing this term 'enshitified' a lot lately. I am curious to its source and why it seems so much more prevalent recently. Do you have any insight into that?

@drowsspa I don't use bing search, I use chatgpt and claude. Here are some examples: after pasting hundreds of log lines of output from a failed build request, "why did this build fail?" After pasting my last 3 workouts, &quo

I remember when they were on the agenda path to eliminate gifs. You'd see posts on hacker news written by Giffy, a company seeking to make its existence justified by getting rid of gifs, all over hacker news. When I would say: This is

I used winamp in the late 90s and early 2000s. During that time it was a necessary program to have on the PC, but I stopped using it once MP3 players and ipods became more common / affordable. Then youtube came out and when on my pc, I

sorry if I misread your comment, but you seem to be indicating that LLMs such as chat gpt (which use gpt 3+) are bag of words models? they are sequence models.

I argue they definitely 'changed AI' but definitely agree they didn't 'invent modern AI'. Personally, I think both compute and NN architecture is probably needed to get closer to AGI.

I worked with catboost, lightgbm, and xgboost when doing the zillow kaggle competition a long time ago, 2016 I think. I used what is called blending, where you give a weight to the models such as: .5 * xgboost + .25 * catboost + .25 * light

Intel's 2010 7.6B$ purchase of mcafee was a sign that Intel doesn't know what its doing. In the CEO's words: The future of chips is security on the chip. I was like no, no its not! I wanted them to get into mobile and GPUs at
