It's even worse than that, since there are cities and counties which levy their own sales taxes. If an Internet retailed has to collect all of these, they need a comprehensive sales tax database plus a mechanism for sending payments where t

This write up is ridiculously biased. If you read Adria's write up, which includes the photo, you can see that there's absolutely nothing private about the conversation. Look at the photos in http://butyoureagirl.com/14015/forking-and-dong

At the last programming conference I attended, I saw a man and woman holding hands. These two people had not, to the best of my knowledge, met before the conference. I don't know how far this relationship went (not that it's my business), b

I agree with most of your points except for #4. There's nothing inherently wrong with flirting at a conference. Flirting is a very natural type of interaction for people, and asking people to not do it at all doesn't seem realistic. However

The http://torguard.net/ SOCKS proxy service works quite well if all you care is bittorrent. They also offer a VPN product. They don't keep logs, which is something to look for in any decent VPN or SOCKS proxy.

Here's another way to phrase it. A good API is based on the data and actions related to a specific domain of knowledge. Generic solutions produce APIs that are oriented around the communications protocol (REST). On the client side, I don't

All that these sorts of description produce is a low-level API. That can be useful, but what's really needed are high-level APIs that provide meaningful semnatics: my $me = Facebook->new( username => 'autarch' ); $me->
