I've tried both. Standing is clearly easier. There are three main parameters: stand/sit, front-to-back/back-to-front, front-access/reverse-access (i.e. between the legs or behind the back) Back-to-front is a health risk

Is drinking de-mineralised water from RO not bad for you? I'd always heard it leeches minerals out of you.

My partner had a similar experience. Bought new Converse shoes which were specifically marketed as walking shoes. 5-6 weeks of ~20 minutes moderate walking per day and they both had holes in the soles. Went back to the Converse store and go

> Many species are self-aware every bit as much as animals are Do you have any sources you could share which support this claim? A cursory search has turned up nothing approaching convincing evidence.

I don't have an ADHD diagnosis, but I have some suspicions. I find I want to be doing things. Those things must be immediately (or very quickly at least) and consistently rewarding, or I'll stop. That much is, as far as I'v

BMW's heated seats are $589 upfront or $29 per month here. Auto loan rates are about 7% p/a. On a 5 year loan of $589, you'd pay $700 including interest. Plus you might recoup some of that when you sell the car. A monthly sub

Anyone who has used ChatGPT should be able to see what's happening here. You can get it to "admit" just about anything if you ask enough leading questions.

I tried to look at the Reddit OP's comment history to see if I could get some background on why they're asking. It did not help.

Absolutely. How is anyone supposed to be able to safely do anything on a touchscreen while driving? That using a touchscreen while driving is legal completely baffles me.

This reminds me of this project replacing the tenkeys with a rotary dial on a mechanical keyboard: https://squidgeefish.com/projects/rotary-keyboard/

Interestingly this seems to be one of those unusual cases where the US by and large uses the British pronunciation while Australia does its own thing. On the plus side for Australia, we never have to hear the classic form: > Rooter? I ha

It's not a compatibility test. They're questions designed to foster feelings of "closeness". I did this with a random stranger on Imgur a few years back. It was remarkably effective.

According to some random commenter I saw on HN last week, BIPOC is similarly questionable. I will make an effort to use whatever term people prefer, but it's impossible to know which that is when the loudest voices don't agree.
