No, I meant the built in one... Not sure why is it confusing always just worked for me. Thought vim undo was similar, maybe I was mistaken.

I'm not completely convinced about the free discs argument. I grew up in a modest family, small village (3k people), 14k modem, and yet every (all the two of them) newsstand had at least two biweekly Linux magazines. They cost somethin

Pretty confused about this post and comments. Seems everyone is just using custom regexps or piping buffers to external commands. That's how I as an emacs user occasionally use vim. And that's because I don't know vim at all

Most big open source projects switched to git way before GitHub existed. It was already popular when they launched and that's the reason they succeeded.

May I ask what makes you more productive with vscode? Coming from decades of emacs I'm always wondering if I should try it. If anything because emacs is a huge time sink. You can get lost customizing it to your needs and forget that wh

Sure but at that point what's keeping you from using Linux? desktop experience is way more pleasant both on linux and macos than windows. WSL is great but the only use I see for it is if Windows is forced upon you by company policies.

My point was not to patronize anyone. My point was that one measurement (air quality) is difficult from a physics and technology standpoint. Low cost accurate air quality measurement at consumer level is not possible no matter how much you

Easy solution if your customer understands accuracy. They don't. They want the highest resolution so they can see their 10 gram progress when dieting. But they want the measurement to be stable enough to not cause them too much anxiety

I wouldn't say it's the same. Low cost air quality measurement is difficult. PM is tricky but almost manageable with laser scattering, toxic gases at typical inquinant concentrations are almost impossible to get right with electro

Could you list some of these features that make VSCode far more capable? I always wonder if I should move on from emacs at some point to a more capable IDE. If you think emacs is "just a console text editor" though you may not be
