Never did I think I'd see an LIHTC discussion on HN (or anywhere technical I frequent), I've worked on and written some compliance software for them. I was surprised at the scale and implementation of them.

It's a new implementation of a common service. You have a point with the auction house providing the service it blurs some lines. Similar points have been brought up regarding some of Amazon's services. I think it will rely on eBa

Are there not currently businesses that do exactly this? You drop things off and they list them. I ran one for a while (albeit in the states).

So you're a (sub)contractor? Do you then sub it out to in-house dev/designers or have companies you work with?

Careful spouting that off (if you're US based), it sounds like, though you're both ok with it, your employer could be liable for incorrectly classifying you as an independent contractor. You may have been aware already but if not

The last time I tried this (4 years ago?), there were significant delays getting messages to some people. We were all on AT&T plans with work phones but some took 8-10 hours to get the alert.

Isn't Apple used to selling highly marked up products to people who want something that "just works"? It doesn't seem to matter if it's the best product or a competitive price.

Still checking out the post but to anyone looking at getting a nice set of headphones, the Sennheiser 600s (mentioned in the post) can be picked up (especially used or open box) much cheaper than $500. I'd actually recommend going ahea

I don't know if you're being snarky or trolling or what but alcoholism comes in many forms. Please don't diminish the situation people are in just because they do their job well.
