I don't think it's DRM. When you subscribe to a music streaming service - you get 90+% of the music you'll ever need. But you can't get the same subscription with movies/TV shows. You get a fraction of content with

I was thinking the same thing recently (dealing with 2 different companies). As soon as the company get some market share - all customer support is just gone. You only get some automated messages in reply, and if you're lucky to speak

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to say that I agree with you. I also think that Apple's hardware is fantastic, but it's the software that's holding them back.

I have watched it in 3D, it's still a bad movie. Only the soundtrack was good.

Took me too long to notice autocorrect. Unlock is uBlock, obviously.

True, but what are the alternatives? Bloated Brave? Bare Chromium without a proper adblock (I mean unlock of course)? Firefox is still the best browser there is, even with these flaws.

Can I install the original uBlock in Chrome? No? It can't possibly be the best.

Most popular != the best. The days when Chrome was the best browser are long gone.

Yeah, without Google's funding, Firefox could be in trouble, but I doubt it will be destroyed. And nobody is selling it. Or what 'only' browser are you talking about? xD

Another thing I've noticed is that many people refer to everything as 'ChatGPT', regardless of which 'AI' they're using.

Are they trying to compete with Google in the number of projects at the cemetery?

I also recently came across a job listing from Canonical, and the application form was enormous, with lots of mandatory fields. I also questioned whether they ever hire anyone at all with this process. You would really have to want a job at

My main problem with Signal is that it's a mobile app with a desktop companion app. Ideally, I would prefer a federated messenger, but I would be completely fine with Signal if it wasn't a mobile-only app (you can't use the d

Have you tried Delta Chat? I like the concept, but I can't convince anyone to sign up to test it out :(

Perhaps the alternatives are worse(that's subjective). But with M$, you're putting all your eggs in one basket. If there is demand, the alternatives will improve too.

I didn't have this problem when I had a PS5. Is it a known problem? Because I charged my controller using a Sennheiser headphone cable, and even an old type-A to type-C cable worked. Never had a single problem.

I was recently looking for a mini PC to use as a home server with, extendable storage. After comparing different options (mostly Intel), I went with the Ryzen 7 5825U (Beelink SER5 Pro) instead. It has an M.2 slot for an SSD and I can insta

People want a macOS on an iPad. Apple is developing a MacBook with an iPhone CPU instead...

Yes :( I've been told that developers will even need to prove that they use "AI" for their work. Otherwise, it will affect their chances of getting promoted.

For me, the main change is not about the weight, but the size > cabin bag measuring up to 100cm > as well as an under-the-seat personal item with a maximum size of 40x30x15cm Right now almost all (if not all) EU lowcosters only allow

They even do it to bookings made through their own website. Bookings in my old account were constantly blocked after I made them. Each time, I received an email saying that I had booked through a third-party agent and that I had to verify m

The last time I flew with Ryanair, I was told that I couldn't board using the PDF ticket and that I had to download their app. I was already late, so I had no choice but to comply. Ryanair is a truly disgusting company by any measure.

Does it actually cost the airline more money to allow this? They already allow underseat luggage, where you can store even heavier bags. They were limiting the size of the bag unnecessarily (even though there is plenty of room under the sea

I was late to reply, but as others have noticed, delayed trains can't always "catch up" with the schedule. ICE trains can accelerate to 405 kph, but regional trains using the same rail can't.

The trains in the post-Soviet region may be old, but surprisingly, they are rarely late. I'm only talking about the post-USSR area, can't say much about the Eastern Bloc in general.

That's exactly it, it's not the new top speed they need, they lack efficiency. And it's not just Deutschebahn. For example BVG, who runs busses and U-bahn in Berlin is even less reliable.

I know some apps don't work on Graphene even with sandboxed Google Play Services, but I have most of the banking and payment apps work in a separate user. So far I had a good success rate on (mostly) de-Googled phone.

On Graphene, create another user and install sandboxed Google Play Services there. Don't login into Google account, use something like Aurora Store to get the apps. Most of the apps I have to use (mostly banks) work this way (I have a
