Well, to be precise- this study shows no evidence of a fasting effect. they show if you starve cells in a dish in a way that might mimic what happens when you fast, you can kill the cells. I didn't see any mention of even mouse studie

this isn't how chemotherapy works. traditional chemo targets rapidly dividing cells in the body: cancer, hair/skin, intestinal lining cells. That's why you get those side-effects.

The thing you have to figure out, is that our brains and consciousness are just a big collection of "thoughtless fuzzy pattern recognizers". There's nothing magic beyond that.
