I agree with this. Any coder can tell you that AI will write some decent code, but it takes (at least at this point in time) an experienced coder to tell "this is crap code" or "this is decent code" – find a better docto

I said in another thread that I think that the first step can at least be that an LLM helps triage/prioritize the test results so docs can at least know an order in which to review them, especially with radiology/imaging results w

A friend of mine had gotten an imaging test done recently, and had to wait 7 days to have her doctor review it. Meanwhile, she got the report and was paralyzed with worry by some of the words (like high risk for ____, etc). I feel like this

The general expectation with USDS and others was that you only stay for 2-3 years. So it’s more like a temporary tour. At least that’s what was pitched to me a few years ago when I spoke to their counterparts in the US gov. Incredibly smart

I support them ($10/mo) because they do a good job and I figured, if I pay, then the likelihood of them using sketchy ways of making money is reduced.

I literally can’t read this blog post because it keeps jumping to the top of the page to play the video again and again. Maybe take 10% of the time you spent dreaming up new colors to just make your blog function like a regular page instead

I've read stories about how Apple was having trouble attracting certain researchers (academics) because they didn't allow them to publish their research. This might be Apple's way of attracting a larger swath of academics, gi

I would never dream of asking TechDirt (or anyone) to change their tone, or any such. If that's what you mean by tone policing. But HN stories are sometimes redirected to a more original source, etc. So it's not unprecedented to r

Maybe but the tone distracts from the content. Maybe we can replace the link with an article that has more supporting data one way or another, and doesn’t sound like an angry comment on Reddit?

Yeah I agree, and chose my words carefully. Their education reform work in the US has been much more murky. Their work in Africa has had unambiguously huge benefits.

Through their work, the gates foundation has probably saved millions of lives, maybe tens of millions of lives, over the past 25 years. They’ve also been deeply involved with various education reforms in the US. They’re definitely active he

APIs require devs on both sides. This kind of thing could just require the devs on one side to maybe clean up a bit of markup (which I even doubt), and the entire universe of potential consumers on the other side.

I think it's also about automatically purging and slimming down your CSS, which is easier to do when you're just comparing tokens. Although nowadays I'm sure they could technically do the same thing with the built in parsers
