If we can't fight them in the courts then we fight them where we are comfortable. Now more than ever we need to start outpacing the law using technology. We've done this before and we can do it again. Bits move faster than bureauc

I'd suggest switching to a static site in general. I have no idea what kind of traffic they're sustaining at the moment but NGINX serving up static html (or s3) is a lot more efficient than Wordpress or another blog engine consumi

I like this idea better than any of the ideas I've come up with or have heard from others. I think this is something that could accompany full blown legalization, as a few people have pointed out(and I agree) that some drugs are more l

Good point. What can we do instead? How would making fewer things illegal solve the problem of corrupt institutions locking people up for money?

I know that's the reality, but isn't this fucked up? Shouldn't _this_ be illegal?

What if a junkie could go to a clinic and get their fix? I'd happily pay more taxes to get junkies their fix. I'd also be happy to pay taxes that would help them seek treatment as well. I'm not at all qualified to propose rea

Yeah we solved that problem in Chicago </s>. We learned that criminals don't obey the law and the law abiding citizens have a difficult time obtaining the proper tools they need to protect themselves.

You'd think someone in the chain of command would say, "what would this look like as a legal market? How much could we generate in taxes? Do these people really belong behind bars?" A few questions I have: * How many schools

The problem here lies with the authoritative nameservers. You have to retrieve the record from somewhere initially. The trouble here is that since these companies are using Dyn and only Dyn to be their Nameservers. When a dns request is mad

I remember working as a help desk tech and our company used ACT the CRM software. At the time it was very poorly designed(might still be) and used an MSSQL database to store all of it's information. We wanted to port all of the informa

Unfortunately it's kind of a joke here in Chicago too. You'll hear everyone saying "Suns out guns out" and crap like that. Especially holiday weekends are the worst. I'm not sure why it's this way, but I have a

There's also a lot of thrash in this space right now. If you don't have the time or don't want to be a trail blazer use Boring Technology ™ until someone else figures it out for you. Perfectly acceptable approach, imo.
