I'm seeing the same behavior here. Thanks for the update and confirmation. Can others confirm if this means 12.04 isn't impacted by this cve?

Was hoping someone would say this. This should be the only thing they focus on this year until it's done. I see that they POST to a secure endpoint when logging in but that doesn't make a difference once the session cookies are tr

I don't think that Ruby/Rails has anything to do with this, really. If you want to scale any app, you're going to want to do some caching somewhere. What this boils down to is that their app has a dependency in an initializer

Is it really "shameful"? Running systems like this at scale is hard. We're not talking about redundant power systems for an ICU Ward in a hospital. We're talking about a website which powers a sliver of the first world.

What's even worse is that when Amazon finally updates their status page it's usually still a green icon with a little i tick for "information" even if it was a partial outage. It takes a lot for the icons to go red which

Interesting that a drop in oil price would correlate. Why is this and how does it impact a completely unrelated industry?

Can someone help explain what this means? Is there something about Square that we can attribute this to? Did they make a mistake? Were they overvalued to begin with? I've spent the last year trying to understand the whole private-to-pu

We have two nest thermostats installed at work. I rotate the WiFi keys for our APs quarterly and these things are the biggest pain in the ass to reconnect to the WiFi. The furnace turns off almost immediately after changing the WiFi key onc

You're definitely not mirroring your infrastructure any time soon :). Not to say that it's impossible because I don't believe in impossible, but that's quite a stack to replicate. We have much the same stack at Reverb.co

You get what you pay for. t2.nano isn't as fun as it sounds. Just wait until someone soaks up all the available instances surrounding yours and starts generating CPU steal on your box, thus making everything in your OS take 50-90% more

Thanks for the update and the hard work. You all work a job that requires a lot of sweat and tears that goes unappreciated from many levels of our society. Making the internet work is hard work. Know that you're in good company here an

At some point I really think we'll resort to blocking ads at the network level. There's no way to detect a block at that level and we'll truly be able to control the content that way. I've seen a few http/dns ad blo

Sure it's a decent format and it's quite widespread. However, if the committee decides to make the format worse by incorporating DRM, we can easily decide to move away from that format. Easier said than done, but still an option.
