I like this. Speaks to my own goal of creating "micro" communities. https://micro.mu . We limit groups to 20 people. I think that's an ideal number for real connections. Need more, it's likely for a different

Not the only company doing stealth cuts. The only reason it was declared is because it's public. Many will try to mitigate reputation damage by brushing it under the covers. They will not tell other employees who left or why. It'l

I think there's a distinction between the physical and the digital. One might say it's electrons at the end of the day but if you think about how we came into this world and how we've operated for a millennia, putting a veil

When an idea like this strikes but doesn't take off there's definitely an element of "before it's time" but it's also really hard to get people to adopt opinionated development models unless it's part of a

Interesting. Thanks for the ideas. I think my initial ideas were around that dating all the way back to 2016 but I was never able to get it off the ground. Let me share an idea with you to get some feedback. https://mu.xyz/n

I don't really want to build another megacorp. I've done the VC funded route and played the ambition dream chasing game. It's not for me. If anything, the mission is to be the anti-facebook. To build something community led a

Thanks for the kind words! Sorry the other stuff took a bad turn. I raised VC funding in 2019 as a solo founder and ended up in the relentless pursuit of product market fit after building an oss project. That plus COVID plus a baby plus not

I do agree. The hard part will be figuring out how to do that. So my background is in networks and I think SMTP was always a great example of a solid network. The question on the self hosting front is, how many moving parts will people tole
