This is still a hard problem. I use Google Apps OAuth for everything possible. This makes it pretty easy. You can also use SAML or any other SSO mechanism. You should absolutely create new users when that is an option. Then, when someone le

A "valuation expert" arguing against a straw man based on a misconception certainly makes you wonder how much expertise they have. Raising capital from an investor who gets preferential terms -at- a valuation is not equivalent to

This. The general rule I have my teams follow is that I should be able to jump into the middle of a bit of code and understand what all the variables are and the methods do etc from their names. If you do this, then you'll find the amo

Find agreement on priorities with short meetings on a regular basis. This can be done in a structured as part of Agile, or just as regular meetings to get everyone on the same page. The approach I take is that I don't care what the ord

I love these writeups from BackBlaze. Does anyone know why some of the confidence intervals around the ARF are asymmetric?

It would be good if you added an explanation of why we would want to use this to your README. Specifically, why would it be preferable to https://github.com/kubernetes/minikube

Called ID looks up phone numbers and replaces them with the names of businesses. It does send the phone number to Google to look it up, and it does work internationally. I've lived in both Australia and Vietnam with great results. The

This is a pretty cool technical feat, not unlike others used in the past such as a smartphone sitting on a table next to a keyboard. The actual usefulness of this attack would be quite low though, since there are easier ways to read PINs on

I'm a little confused by this article. There was no suggestion that these systems were built to intentionally produce certain outcomes for particular races or sexes, which leads me to believe that these outcomes are "pure" ef

Given the high level of statistical certainty that particle physicists strive for from experimental data, how much of a difference does the approach matter by the point where they are confident enough to endorse the theory? For instance, if

I agree that it's possible, but I think the last point in your argument actually makes Google harder to displace than easier. If someone came out with a better web search engine than Google right now, I probably wouldn't switch. T

I couldn't agree more. It has annoyed me when companies charge more for decisions about how you choose to do something - in this case how you split up your code. Paying per person makes much more sense.

This looks cool. What is the major differentiator for those of us using Chrome logged in with a Google account? I see that the GitHub stars are synced, but is there anything else? Is this supposed to be used to bookmark GitHub repos only, o

This is a really cool idea. I'd love to see it as a simple app (or maybe Messenger bot?) rather than SMS so that it can be used internationally.

Who do you see as your ideal customers? Who are the people gathering data locally? Is this crowdsourced? There have been breaking news platforms in this space in the past that found it hard to get users onboard. How will you approach this d

Stripe has fraud prevention built in. How is their service deficient? Also, it sounds like these rules need to manually be set up, rather than having an out-of-the-box system that just works. Is this right? Do us merchants need to understan

I've talked about this with lots of people over the last 10 years or so. Most people I know (non-programmers) look at me like I'm crazy when I suggest that this is a good idea. I don't think that most regular people see a ben
