This reminds me of supermarket clerks running IBM 3270 apps one handed. As long as the UI is straight forward, it doesn’t need to be pretty or slick. It just needs to be second nature.

Absolute worst compared to what? Have you tried packaging software on Windows? If you have something better in mind, please implement it. It’d get used.

You're talking apples and oranges. The LX2160A is an "edge computing part", with a bunch of RAM and I/O bandwidth, and enough cores to do something with it. Its not a workstation or a jellybean controller part.

Did anyone write "extreme" portability? You can pick a ton of random architectures (e.g. PowerPC) that aren't common, but aren't extreme. The bugs that they find can be useful, and I evaluate them when I get them.

Do you never stop and think “why is our code base busted in this person’s environment?” I mean, it could just be that the bug filer just hasn’t done their due diligence on upgrading (why won’t win 3.11 play crysis). It also could be that yo

I have fond memories of camping near Diablo as a kid. It’s a beautiful area, and being in the shadow of the nuclear power plant kept me on edge. Regardless of any narrative, I’m curious about the actual negative impact Diablo ever really h

Horses for courses. I’ve been staunchly pro Apple since my //e and I’ve recently gotten off of OS X completely. Most of my usage is dependent on developing server/SaaS tooling, and Apple’s dev support is so behind, that it’s

How many people doing exclusively remote work would be driving an F-150 otherwise? From where I’m sitting, west coast, construction and public works projects are up during the pandemic, not down.
