The problem is that “experience” has no value in our industry, unless it is recent experience with some technology, framework, language, and the memorization of those algorithms and data-structures.

This claims 1 and -1 is confusing, then proceeds to use the confusion. Why not use the language of the problem domain? The rules are unambiguous. An increase in assets are a DR, increase in liabilities a CR, in income a CR, in expenses a DR

The USA can continue overspending, lending and making payments, all while taxing minimally - for a limited time only. Eventually, that equation will need to change. The choices are tighten the belt and/or increase taxes, war and the ap

My take is that Apple are doing the maximum possible to protest their disagreement with consumer protection laws interfering with their ability to do whatever they want. Their announcement has the tone of a spoilt child, with an air of puni

Are non-functional requirements all there is these days? Instead of “developers, developers, developers”, is the new mantra “plumbing, plumbing, plumbing, (and infrastructure)”?

You can use an object domain model to model a complex system. Something more common in say Java than .NET with its traditional “wizard” based tooling legacy. Worth looking up if all you know is recordsets and datasets.

Been away from .NET for many years. In those days, business logic was largely represented as procedural code using classes for organization, manipulating recordsets or datasets. Is that still the case?

A large proportion of software projects are internal systems which are not being delivered to external 3rd parties. Nor are they online products primarily for consumption by the public. These are the systems that run the world in banking, f

My take on this is that in the USA, software development is now viewed as the creation of an asset with a lifetime of 5 or 15 years. Accordingly, its cost (including labor) can only be expensed (depreciated) over that time period. It is thi
