I'm curious, how many apps do you have installed on your phone, and how many of them are paid ones? Especially, ones using subscription models? Less than 10, or dozens? I have over a dozen and I really appreciate the ability to manage

Algorithms suck because they take this as an engagement metric. Or rather people who design algorithms in this way.

Point with the whole Hey thing, is that they've gone a step beyond the client of an email server. And that's the beauty of it. I am all in for Basecamp, and will definitely try Hey, as email has gone from worse to terrible for me

Not "new" doesn't mean boring. Boring means not using a technology (a framework, or a language) when not needed. Don't use Javascript on the frontend, when not needed, stick with one CSS pre-processor, one database, one

You're saying exactly what the message above states - either, or. It is totally possible to have a boring JS stack, or a boring Ruby stack, or a boring Python stack. And for most of use cases, that is more than enough. One of the best

This is really interesting, and rings a lot of bells for myself as well. Are you in the US? I think it is time for a lot of people for a relocation to somewhere with better-larger living arrangements, and better access to childcare (private

Do you know the size of fraud departments at banks and payment providers, and the budgets going into fraud prevention every year? A bank card is as easily destructible as a smartphone is, but is far less secure, as we're sacrificing se

Wow! This is a super strong and a super solid observation. Come to any small bikeshop, and you will find it packed with all kinds of parts - some of which may be laying there forever. But you will most likely come out of the shop with your

It also depends on the nature of the fintech app. Imagine running a 100K + users on a stock trading app for day traders, where latency matters, and a lot of streaming happens.

Pears to apples absolutely. It is an interesting observation, but for most of cases, which I am aware of, big companies are using Office365 and, probably, Dynamics, which automatically makes them the Azure customer and ticks the "Migra

Can you give an example of such Electron apps, for which you can't tell they're not "native"? Not trying to nitpick or anything, just curious.

A button is a bad UX example, because it is rather a switch with two indicators - now it is on, and turn it the other side/way to turn off. A TV remote is also a bad UX example, because you can actually see that the TV is on or off by
