You are equating money to happiness. I'm sure that there are plenty of very wealthy people out there that don't feel like they have anything to lose, and they might as well do something spectacular instead of continue to try to fill the vo

Designing an electric car that people actually want to buy is a lot more than an engineering problem, too. Why would somebody want to pay 50k on a car that can only drive a few hundred miles before needing a couple hours to recharge? It a

Dharmesh classifies himself as a "complete introvert". And his behavior with respect to phones is consistent with that. But I find it hard to believe that he has gotten to where he is today by taking this kind of hardline attitude w/all t

Did you guys look at the AI Challenge that was done by the guys over at the University of Waterloo (aichallenge.org)? I thought those competitions were extremely well done, and have been disappointed that they haven't come out with any new

Free? Free to whom? Twitter charges some users, but doesn't charge others. The same could be said about just about every platform out there. I don't think that's particularly useful advice, because I don't know what you mean by free (is

Don't rely on someone else's API? That's like going through life never trusting anybody. Sure, you'll avoid getting burned, but I hardly think that's an optimal strategy. A better strategy is to trust somebody (/an API) until they give you

It makes sense for NASA to avoid anything that would significantly decrease the public's opinion of them (as that would eventually lead to funding cuts). But I don't think their assumption that the death of astronauts/pilots would negative

Personally I find this interesting from a marketing perspective... its not like cloning a DB is a new concept, but by calling it "forking your data" they make it seem quite a bit sexier. I'm not sure if technically its the best term to use,

Its a little harder than simply setting a loftier goal and telling NASA to accomplish it in a shorter timeframe. I assume there was a certain amount of engineering due diligence done to come up with those dates. Have you ever had a manage

It won't look red if you put that sheet of glass over a black piece of paper. Ink is semi-transparent. So think of white paper as a light source, and the red ink absorbs all colors but red coming off the paper before it reaches your eye. N

To be fair, the author does call it a product success (# of activations per day could be used as a metric to support that). But then he/she attempts to call it a business failure because of these Motorola losses. That's WAY off the mark.
