Sure, I don't think there is one variable that explains everything. There are a multitude of reasons that lead people to decide to use or not to use apps.

That is such a nerdy perspective, totally stuck in the filter bubble. I don’t think that explains the difference at all. I think it’s about convenience. People don’t want to use apps for the diverse things they do on the web all the time. A

This just being a better vibration motor is totally fine! Nothing wrong with it. There is also nothing wrong with iterative improvement. I quite like it actually, and I think people who dismiss it out of hand are weird.

The iPhone, also the new one, doesn't create any tactile feedback besides just feeling like a vibrating device. It's a much more subtle and precise and pleasant vibration than on my current device (iPhone 6) on the new 6s but it&#

The culture on 4chan is such that people are actively encouraged to be assholes more frequently. They start to play their role. That’s not honesty, that’s performance. I think you are completely ignoring the impact culture has on behavior.

You have just constructed a giant straw man that does not in any way reflect his actual stated reasoning for pulling the app. He is not opposed to ad blocking. He is not opposed to ad blocking apps. He doesn’t think people blocking ads are

I don’t think two years is the average life time of a current MacBook. I would guess maybe three, four years, maybe even longer. Most problems will crop up during the first year and be fixed on warranty. Mechanically the devices are very so

My ethical view on this is that in general (but not always) you need explicit consent before you publish the photograph of someone. Just having access to the photos (in this case it’s probably still the monk who has the copyright to those p

Two wrongs don't make a right? You act as though you could apply some simple legal test to this essentially ethical question. I think it's very hard to make an ethical case for sharing photos someone made (with an extremely high l

I really don't think that has anything to do with flat design whatever that means. Apple is all about hiding non-essential information and functionality. Always has been. This is a consistent pattern you will be able to find in all the

Soyuz has more room in the orbit module. What you see in those Soyuz photos is not all the room there is, at least on orbit, if not during the trip through the atmosphere. The ride to and from orbit itself doesn’t take that long (measured i

Apple blankets the planet with their ads. That's how they teach people about features. How discoverable is Siri? It’s super obscure, nowhere to be found in the UI, you can only activate it via an obscure long-press.
