When you are high or growing income I think it’s helpful to have a financial plan that gets you towards you end goals at the rate you want and then tune your lifestyle to that. So for instance driving a Corolla when you are making 500k a ye

Google has definitely stopped being able to find the things I need. Pasting stack traces and error messages. Needle in a haystack phrases from an article or book. None of it works anymore. Does this mean they are ripe for disruption or has

In theory if I check both Uber and Lyft the price of one or the other should be lower since they want my business to offset their fixed costs. The price I am willing to pay Is simply the lowest price I can get for the service. How rich I am

My issue with it is that index funds don't compete on the quality of their contribution to governance. Many index funds are kind of fungible with similar low costs and performance relatively to the index they are supposed to track. So

Huh. That sounds bad. That sounds like power collecting where it shouldn't for the wrong reasons. Bad enough that maybe it needs a legal or regulatory solution.

If you own an index fund does the fund actually vote? I wouldn't want my passive investment vehicle to be actively influencing the companies I am investing in.

When you have 256 gigabytes of RAM 8 gigs of swap isn't going to move the needle on OOM and it will put you at risk of having things you didn't want swapped out swapped preemptively. At various points in history Linux would swap o

VoltDB doesn’t use 2PC? At least as not as I understand it? Source: I was the third engineer working on VoltDB and I worked on it for six years. VoltDB orders deterministic stored procedure invocations and then executes them serially.

Another satisfied Zenni customer. The lenses are not always perfect and the frames are not always the best. Sizing is hit or miss. What I do is buy the frame with cheap lenses to check fit, then I buy it with nice lenses if I like it. They

It really depends on where you live. Rust will eat up your car in a lot of the world. Sure you can replace a lot of the things that rust until the frame goes, but it starts to get expensive. Pumps, hard to get to filters, starters, alternat

Bigger houses tend to not get dirty as quickly. But it is more nooks and crannies that need attention on an infrequent basis. So many houses I step into have parts that have never been cleaned since they took ownership. Wow it gets nasty!
