This makes a lot of sense. I took a couple online classes when I was in college, and despite my efforts, I definitely didn't learn as much as I would have otherwise. THere's something about someone telling you something in person

It was. Every time I hear people grumble about criminals walking free (which, admittedly, is infuriating) and that we should be allowed to settle things "like we used to", I think back to how disputes between families could be so

Not as much as Rust has, though. I'd be hard pressed to go back to C-land now. I'm surprised they wouldn't consider a greenfield component (HTTP/3) a good candidate for it, sad.

Maybe they're valuing inferior products they only prefer due to advertisements? Imagine how much better our world would look without advertising. Will some adtech devs lose their job? Yes, but honestly it would probably be worth it. Th

I wish America would group TV ads together, it would make them much easier to skip and would remove the need for forced cutoffs (you really notice them when watching on non-cable sources)

Agreed on keeping the status quo, adding generics makes it really easy to write bad code and increases mental overhead. Simplicity is what we should be going for, not having generics should've been kept as a selling point.

Pre-canned infrastructure is generally fine, this requires you use their programming language and their text editor. The article and website make no mention of if your code is stored in version control you can mirror, or if there are any pl

Why would it make more sense to "spin a limited number of times before going through the slow path to acquire a mutex"? Does a mutex have more overhead in the short term than a spinlock but after a few cycles become more efficient

I really dislike this. It feels trivializing and insensitive, like being disabled is something you so for fun and that it's not a real thing.
