I'm impressed that Apple would continue to replace devices without a warranty. Really shows their dedication to their customers, not many other companies would continue to drop so much money on devices they don't have to support.

They could've hired more people and got the same work cranked out in similar time, long hours != popular. Plenty of companies have cracked the whip, but it doesn't always lead to success.

Yep, it encourages some very bad practices and is really inefficient. My team dropped it years ago, even for prototyping, and our remaining Rails apps are considered legacy and we've been slowly replacing them.
