It explained this with the example of the blindfolded braille readers. Over 5 days their sense of touch was enhanced, presumably at the expense of their visual senses. Over time, the visual cortex would be completely taken over if the brain

Perhaps, but it's not so easy to generate user submissions. Scraping would quickly get you a lot more data to work with.

That's far too overreaching. I wouldn't work somewhere that had ownership over my free time like this.

Wow that really sucks! Sorry to hear that. I suppose you would've needed patents on the idea to stop them from stealing it.

This sounds like a project that would benefit from some kind of clustering algorithm using machine learning. Is that how you did it?

Using batteries like this sounds extremely wasteful. A lot of energy goes into extracting the lithium and it's not like they last forever.

I had a MacBook 2014 at work and grew pretty quickly to love it after only ever using Windows. However, the updates turned a perfectly reasonable machine into a much slower one. I switched to Linux when I left the company and while I ran in

I suggest you work on these projects in your spare time if they are your passion. Release them on GitHub and see what happens. If other people find them useful then you will probably have created a job for yourself via consulting or similar

Well, multiple GPUs can easily have this, yes. Surely the mining rigs they use in crypto can also be used in data science. Plus the new Nvidia GPU has 80gb.

Pihole blocks server requests but ublock can do a whole lot more to the page by blocking specific html, css, and scripts. Ublock will prevent YouTube ads, for example, whereas pihole cannot as they come from the same server as the content.

I guess CPU time is different to actually asking for money. But it would probably just skew so that CPU was incredibly cheap as spammers/bots mobilised to have as much CPU time on separate IPs as possible... Or something like that. The

Attaching monetary value is one method but you always disenfranchise some people with systems like this. Cory Doctorow explores reputation based identity in his book "down and out in the magic Kingdom" but it seems this also has d

I had assumed in the anime captcha you were given an example of the character and told to identify all pictures of said character. Otherwise I couldn't do it. A centralised ID system is one solution for authentication online but it

I like the idea of captchouli as it plays on the weaknesses of ML in differentiating between similar images. However, I still think advances in AI will force us to go further and use philosophical/psychological based captchas instead o

I also can't get through Google recaptcha. Proxy services rotate their up blocks so you can't simply block them all. Captchas are in their infancy. We need to move beyond something that involves simply clicking to identify images

Would you expect everything to move onto Ethereum/Blockchain immediately? Obviously not - small incremental steps are taken to improve legacy systems. 1T transacted is a fairly impressive milestone in that journey.

Based on what I see on news websites, this isn't really shocking. It is sadly a reflection of how Muslims are reported on in the English speaking world. GPT3 was trained on this kind of data.
