You should make users CHOOSE to provide their login/identity by giving them features that improve the experience: e.g, synchronized settings across all terminal sessions. It should be optional.

An efficient spinlock relies on a good kernel scheduler. I imagine that's the biggest hindrance to performance in a multicore system.

Great article! You can also use std::flush to get this behavior by default in the program.

So many BS roles at all these companies. I imagine we see a lot more of this going into Q4 when next year's budgets are finalized.

"That didn't happen in England." That is precisely what happened. No market buyers for GILTS because tax cut play jeopardized future debt obligations by the government.

Up to congress to balance budgets. Markets will force their hand if they have to (see England).

Can I be naive and argue a simple explanation? Cheap money the last 13 years = hire more people who do less and get paid more. Or even hiring people for positions that aren't needed.

A true meritocracy wouldn't be a friendly world to live in. Think about the current state of education. Parents with resources over-optimize their kids' education because they understand the inefficiencies in the system and/o

> AAPLE has $23B in cash, down 1/3 from this time last year. Mostly given back to investors. Probably nothing to worry about here:) This is the lowest cash level since 2014. Actually, concerning going into potentially a recession.

Prices are already down in many places, and it's only been 5 months since rates started rising. Many factors to supply imbalance. Look at the increase in the amount of Airbnbs since 2010. People might be reluctant to sell, but they mig

Sounds like you've never used a DeFi application...Yes, the bridging between on-chain/off-chain still happens through centralized entities, but things like uniswap are entirely run on-chain and don't require any central autho

There was a Bloomberg article saying that 98% of Apple production is in China, and it would take 8 years to move 10% of it to other countries[1]. Having the largest American company entirely dependent on China is definitely not a good thing

No one said anything about tech dying (I said startups), but a repricing for sure. We don't even know the market demand for these products because cheap money has made everyone a startup founder, and every company pivoted to providing

Tech is reflexive. Since most tech/saas companies sell/support other saas companies, they all go down. Think about all the startups who rely on AWS, Apple computers, and Facebook ads. What happens when they all die? The tech bull

Apple is missing the mark in this segment. Their competitors: Garmin, coros all offer weeks of battery life with tradeoffs people in this segment happily make. I get 20 days of battery life on my coros pace 2. Charging a apple watch every n
