I love this concept, and applying open source to it. I have long seen the correlation between code and food, because recipes are just instructions for humans on how to interact with food to construct something. Recipes are code, just a diff

I prefer stability over optimal, especially in my development environment. I use macOS with nix-darwin, so updating my applications is never very concerning - I can always just rollback if an update is bad. But macOS updates, while generall

The optimist (which is really my real stance) in me says "AI was always bound to happen, and why shouldn't it? It literally can make so many mundane parts of our lives easier, to let us continue to focus on greater things." U

Is LinkedIn often used as a resume? LinkedIn to me is a social media platform. At least in the software companies I've worked for, and applied to, I've only ever seen actual resumes around.

If this is a true threat, I don't imagine us retaining a capitalist society for very long. AI is basically the dream for socialism, and the antithesis for capitalism (except for the capitalists that win the arms race). In any case, I&#

I'd be curious on data for this - if that's actually true, or just your perception. Not wanting "BuzzFeed" to be someone's source of journalism is not the same thing as that person not wanting to consume high-qualit

I don't know how you came out of my comment with this response. What I'm saying is there is already plenty of better (or just-as-good, or near-good) sources of journalism. I did not even know BuzzFeed News was separate from Buzz

I really don't know why they kept the BuzzFeed branding. I intentionally _ignored_ anything that came from BuzzFeed News as likely tabloid-esque news because of the branding, and I honestly do not think that's the wrong perspectiv

What advantages does Flatpak offer over Nix? The only benefit(s) I see are: 1. Sandboxed applications (via containers?) - so applications you have don't technically have access to your home directories by default. That's sort of
