This feels like textbook survivorship bias as advice. Plenty of artists try to do their own thing and are not culturally rewarded for it.

Yeah it seems obviously risky. A small bank gets a little insolvent and so it gets absorbed by a larger bank. This system works fine when there’s a larger bank to absorb them, but it’s obviously untenable. What happens when the largest bank

> “Your way is wrong. If you can’t do it the right way you don’t deserve to learn a language”. I never said anything like that. I said that I found Duolingo worse than everything else I've tried. I'm glad Duolingo works well fo

Even if that's your metric, I really do think all the other language learning apps are better for this purpose.

When I was planning a move abroad I tried Duolingo, as well as every other language learning app I could find recommended online Of the 8 or so apps I tried, Duolingo was by far the worst. It doesn't feel like it teaches me the languag

As with so many integration exercises, this seems more like an exercise not in integrating, but in your understanding of the relevant functions.

Fair enough about idempotence. I'm still confused about what you're saying though. You're saying that the language of "enhanced reliability" doesn't reflect losing 2 jobs over about 50*7 million (from your othe

When we used Sidekiq in production, not only did I never see crashes that lost us jobs, but there are also ways to protect yourself from that. I highly recommend writing your jobs to be idempotent.

Love Sidekiq and loved how he runs it. Really feels like the right way to make money on OSS. Enterprise never crippled the free version.

Different languages have different levels of conciceness of course, but I highly doubt that Spanish is anywhere close to 15x less concise than english.

You could store whatever personal data you want in embeddings and use the api to refer to those. Can't do it on vanilla ChatGPT with the website though, I don't think.

I was trying to describe a hierarchy of LLMs as an agent. I don't think that's a uniquely human ability.

It seems to me like these long context lengths are going to make a huge difference in the capabilities of things people are able to produce. Agents can use LLMs to subdivide a large corpus into manageable chunks. More context just makes the

What's the benefit of OpenAI charging per-token instead of per-character or per-word? Since token algorithms change model-to-model and version-to-version, it seems like they've added a lot of complication for no actual benefit to
