I did my masters in Tokamak simulation so maybe I'm biased (though I am a bit of a stellarator fanboy). But I've never heard of SAFIRE. I've been on their website, and I can't find anything explaining what SAFIRE is an

Right. If it's a field that Wikipedia refuses to engage in, then by definition it can't be a competitor.

I've probably seen Dune 1984 too many times to have an objective opinion, but I feel like the acting in Dune Part 1 is comparitively very very muted. All the characters (minus Duncan) seem bored the whole time, which is disappointing i

It seems insane to me to market this as "the food costs extra at certain times of day" rather than "Happy Hour-- 20% off!"

Big PRs are often faster, due to the bike shedding problem. A small sensible PR will get people debating intricacies. A big unwieldy one will scare reviewers into doing a quick sign-off

If your “better tooling” is to split this PR into multiple smaller chunks, then you’re just reinventing the original workflow

It's not actually the "ELO" system. People just think it's an acronym mistakenly and capitalize it. It's supposed to be written as just "Elo."

I don't believe that any of this is true. Building more housing does (provably) lower housing prices. And developed urban areas are more environmentally friendly than suburbs. People are going to live somewhere, and density actually ha
