The question didn't mention startups at all. You can be a single founder without being a startup. If a defining feature of a startup is that it's unprofitable and likely to fail, then I think these single founders should be pleased not to

Even better would be to integrate the anti-shelving filter with a GTD app (I use Things) so that I don't have to create a separate task every time I want to create a followup reminder. However, I would never want to send an auto-notificatio

I've used "Consultant". It's not really what I am (my main business is advertising/subscriptions), but if I'm handing you my business card, then I'm probably a consultant to you. Consider "Web Dev Consultant" if you want to be ever-so-slig

I bought a new Steelcase Leap from an office furniture store and paid through the nose for it -- but it's worth every penny. If paying more than $800 for an office chair doesn't make you think "but how will I pay my rent?", I highly recomm

A friend and I developed a proof-of-concept system in 2006 to address this opportunity. The central concept was that publishers would receive offers via our advertising marketplace, and then use their own selection algorithm to select ads

That's a really fascinating poll. I'd really like to see similar data on the perceived cost vs. actual cost of other federal programs -- do you know if anyone has conducted such a study? It would be interesting to see how people respond wh

How is this an interesting twist? As a website owner, it not just as bad -- it's worse, because it gives the user an additional incentive (beyond convenience) to block my ads, and feel self-righteous doing it.

Why RAID-anything in a laptop? A single Intel SSD is pretty darn fast, and the second bay is more useful as a large-capacity spinning hard drive (unless you need the optical drive, of course). I have my MBP set up this way and I've been v

The entire rotor assembly on the Osprey pivots. On the Puffin it is fixed and the entire craft changes its orientation between takeoff, flight, and landing. Whether that makes it more reliable or easier to operate, I have no idea.

How was the ~800% interest rate calculated? $245 / $35.18 = 696% daily interest rate, which annually is ... well, it's incomprehensibly huge. Anyway, overdraft fees aren't loans, they're fees, so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to thin
