They can just run the same tests and cite the results from other websites. That has nothing to do with Meta. No companies can force you to not talk about them.

I actually want a virtual assistant that can reliably process my simple requests. But so far all these companies look like they are still in the figuring out phase, basically throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. Hopefully aft

It's ripe for attack. But Nvidia is still in its growing phase, not some incumbent behemoth. The way Nvidia ruthlessly handled AMD tell us that they are ready for competition.

I am using Calibre with my 6 inch Kindle paperwhite. I notice that it display the books bought from Kindle store a lot nicer than the same books but in .epub format sideloaded by Calibre. Do you know how I can improve this?

I'd argue it's mainly a matter of people. Otherwise Meta, Amazon, Google, etc would've released their versions like yesterday.

Come to any engineering schools, and I mean real engineering like Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and you will see almost no one uses Mac. The software just isn't there. And even when the software is available, the exhorbitant price of R

This comment needs to be downvoted more. TFLOPS is not TOPS, this comparison is meaningless, the 4090 is about 40x TOPS of the M4.

I actually can't wrap my head around this number, even though I have been working on and off with deep learning for a few years. The biggest models we've ever deployed on production still have less than 1B parameters, and the late

That's because array, or even if/else statements are already higher-level abstraction. To be Turing complete you simply need: a memory that can be read from or written to, and the ability to "jump" or "move" to

It's philosophical. It's either turtle all the way down or the axiomatic systems. With axiomatic systems you'll always get things like this, and this is what keeps mathematician awake at night.

I guess because information of pixels in a video are not independent in either time or space, while parallelization relies on the independence of either temporal or spatial axis.

It's not that simple. Pytorch has its own computing model, calling it just APIs is really downplaying the phenomenal works behind the framework. Pytorch put Tensorflow to shame even though the latter had huge first mover advantage.

What the hell is the greater good here? I'm a researcher in a R1 university, I can quickly try stupid things on my personal 3080, then if it works I can virtually git clone the codes onto my lab's server and bam it chops through t
