I don't think it's changed that much. There's so much more comedy and parody content out there these days that our collective standards have changed. The onion's heyday was when the internet was a lot smaller.

What lefty twitter tweets is irrelevant. Are the losing party's establishment and candidate crying foul and mobilizing crony media to cast doubt on the election's legitimacy? Because in 2020 that's what happened. We have mult

If you can point to any video from the last several months where he comes across as charismatic, I'd be genuinely interested to see it. Maybe I've lost touch with what charisma is.

Teams and Google Chat. They're both incredibly bad compared to Slack. But if your org is on 365 or Workspace, you're already paying for them. Big orgs don't love double-paying, quality be damned.

I think this is just the form that "typical pro-business grift" takes these days. "This [entity] has no legal authority to do [obviously good thing]" is a favorite justification for obstructionists in power at every leve

Can you elaborate on the distinction you’re trying to draw? I’m confused why the word diet would apply to one but not the other. They both seem like diets to me. Not as in fad diet, but as in restricted composition of food choices.

I don’t think general population trends are mirrored in the distribution of potential software engineers. More of those attending university are pursuing SWE-related degrees than ever.

Looks more like F# (or something ML-y) than Haskell. Yep, tuple or "product type." Yep, in F# type annotations can be either in prefix style `List<T>` or postfix style `T list`.

KQL, at least, is exactly a DSL intended for querying timeseries. Also it's not like they've implemented a custom storage back-end, it's ClickHouse. ClickHouse itself thinks SQL is fine for querying time-series data (as do Sn

You can, however, slap PRQL or KQL on top of Clickhouse. https://clickhouse.com/docs/en/guides/developer/alternative-... 1.2 doesn't go into nearly enough detail to be convincing, in my opinion.

How often are people hand-writing OpenAPI specs? At least in my experience, such specs are generated from some "authoritative" implementation. This looks like it aims to move the contract-y bits into something less verbose than Op

It's impossible for a .NET library to not work with F#. It's very possible (and even likely) for a .NET library to prevent you from writing idiomatic F#. You're right that it's a second-class citizen.
