Would you expect every article about SQL to say "structured query language" at the top? Some abbreviations become so common they transcend the expectation of definition. BI is arguably one of those - if you're not familiar wi

Giving the parent the benefit of the doubt, they probably were confused by the idea of people taking these pills to get high. That's generally what is meant by the term "recreational use" when it comes to drugs.

Out of curiosity, what are these companies migrating ASP.NET apps to? Newer ASP.NET (Core) on Linux? Or are they swearing off .NET entirely?

I think their point is that you're not taking a principled stand by stealing. If it matters enough to you to "boycott" the company, walk the walk and don't play the games by any means.

Same experience here. I've used WSL2 as a daily driver for work for 2 years now. It feels so close to being "awesome," but the rough edges are maddening. The issues are slowly being addressed, but I still can't recommend

Depends on who you ask. In a literal sense, no. But lots of people use "FAANG" as a shorthand for a wide range of established tech companies with relatively high compensation (and RSUs with actual value). In that sense, yes.

One of the most common reasons to “mark a record as deleted” rather than deleting it is so you can undo deletes without having to fish data out of a backup. I.e. soft delete is effectively a recycle bin. It might not be a user-facing recycl
