Doesn't seem inconsistent to me. I may want my code to be open source so that other humans can read it, understand it, build on it, and contribute to it. I may also have a philosophical opposition to generative AI at the same time - th

I'm sympathetic to your point, but at some point other people ruining themselves degrades your experience as well. I don't gamble and in theory don't care if others do. But prediction markets are affecting sports and possibly

The X3 and X4 both have an SD card slot, so it's theoretically possible to store it at least. Actually searching and browsing it is another question.

Not personally familiar with the details, as I don't have any Amazon devices. Sounds like it involves jailbreaking and per-model differences: https://github.com/koreader/koreader/wiki/Installation-on-Ki..

I’m running Crosspoint on the X3, and am quite pleased with both the software and hardware. It even supports reading progress via Koreader sync, which I use on my main eInk devices.

Is it actually stylistically close to how you'd write it? If I reformulate your comment in slop style I'd do something like: The language is natural. Normal. Human. Who could question its authenticity? The original example isn

Pieces of writing don’t really exist in isolation. Your opinion of a given chunk is formed not only by it, but by everything else you have read. So in one part the negative reaction is to staleness. Everything sounds the same. If it was all

It really doesn't have to be. Your standard zigbee smart lightbulb, for example, behaves exactly the same as non-smart lightbulb - you flip a switch to turn it on and off. You have the option of integrating it with automations and serv

To do this in Home Assistant, you'd probably want to run Music Assistant and integrate it in. Looks like they manage to support some streaming providers, not entirely sure how: https://music-assistant.io/music-providers

You can actually integrate LLMs with Assist pipelines, it’s just orthogonal to this hardware announcement. Check out https://www.home-assistant.io/blog/2024/06/05/release-20246/...

You can do exactly that - set up an Assist pipeline that glues together services running wherever you want, including a GPU node for faster-whisper. The HA interface even has a screen where you can test your pipeline with your computer’s mi

It's a feature but also sort of an anti-feature. To do anything productive you will need to reach for a lot of .NET libraries, and those will force you to write code differently than you would if you could live in blissful pure-F# land

Err LEDs do not burn out at all in the same timeframe as incandescents. If this happened to you, the LED bulbs were defective.

Have you tried recently? I’ve been playing with music-assistant, snapcast, and shairport-sync on some raspberry pi zeros. Synchronization has seemed to work incredibly well during my experiments.
