Not really, you have intellectually missed some of the key reasons for Tailwind and why it's popular.

How exactly do things get proven to be durable if people don't use them in the first place?

I’m just amazed Cory Doctorow of all people doesn’t use uBlock and got duped by this. I’ve always seen Google Ads as about as reliable as the fake download buttons on crappy file websites. You tune them out or block them.

I did this and showed them and they thought it was great I was doing something with my time that was not fucking about with their network. Apparently this sort of thing didn’t go down so well in the USA…

The idea of approaches changing and becoming obsolete and having to be changed is a natural part of software. Shouldn’t stop innovation. TW works well for many experienced people who are very happy with it.

And your Typescript CSS in JS thing using some new thing? TW is at least well documented and widely used and based on a fairly formalised bunch of classes that builds upon a concept that’s been used for 10+ years.

I have, yes. It’s fine and no more annoying than css, styled or whatever else. If anything it’s easier because there’s consistent and constrained bunch of classes you can use.

What exactly is a native mobile modal? That said I’m inclined to agree - emulating system controls with CSS always feels very uncanny valley to me.

Yeah because you’ve jumped in on the attack on a post about something built with a tool that clearly gives a lot of people joy, in order to hawk your own thing. Getting whiny about people defending their own thing in response is kind of dis

I’ve found what you said to be completely untrue unless you’re totally lazy. If you’re building up a bunch of components, the tailwind classes are mainly within the basic components. In the first example of vanilla extract, it uses exact px

It should be factored into the up-front price. Do they include the cost of the inventory and snacks in the price? The host wants to make money from a room, it is in their interest to keep it clean for their guest, because they are the ones

There are lots of situations in life where you can't "leave for greener pastures", especially when it comes to the laws of the land.

I'm talking about stuff like Gitlab, Bitbucket, etc. What I am saying is that most of the paradigms that GitHub has have familiar if slightly different implementations in other places.

LIving in this capitalism that we are in has warped us as humans. People no longer do good shit, they figure out some grift that optimises some crap in such a way that makes them rich and uses marketing to make it seem like it benefits peop

I agree, while it’s nice to go back to basics, I am more concerned with the end result, and vite works really nicely to achieve this. Any real project is going to use CI at some point so what’s the issue with having a build step in your pip

You shouldn’t use brew for development tools and runtimes really, you should should use a language specific version manager or asdf. Brew for system stuff.

It’s actually fine and great and decently performant for making web apps. Declarative code is much nicer than mutating the DOM, components are a great way to reuse code compositionally, hooks are nice building blocks for reusable logic with

Anyone else have iOS Safari crash so hard on this it temporarily locks up your phone? To the point that open Safari again immediately crashes and I had to frantically spam the tab closed in order to recover my ability to browse the web.
