Always brought up and a bit of a red herring. Averaged out, yes. But prop 13 gives older generations are far lower tax burden. If you’re a young home owner in California, it’s absolutely the highest tax burden in the country.

I was under the impression that stem cell treatments don’t require immunosuppression. Really seems to limit the upside of this breakthrough treatment.

More evidence that the “anti vaxxers,” as they were smeared, were correct that we don’t actually know everything about the vaccine’s long term efficacy. With only short term effectiveness, at best, nobody can clearly explain why I need to v

I'd love to believe this is true, but time differences between East/West Coast US alone makes collaboration incredibly tedious. I'm really not a believer in distributed, remote teams due to time issues. It's more feasibl

SSR's main goal is to reduce the time to first interactive and improve SEO, not to bring the internet back to 1995. The page loads without JS, but JS libraries clearly load after the fact to decorate the page.

COVID the pandemic ended back in May when the vaccine was widely available. What we have today is COVID the Culture War, screaming about The Science, and narcissists showing how much better they are at following The Rules than you. My daugh

That jscontroller= stuff in the DOM is Google’s internal framework called Wiz. Easily one of the worst things I’ve used in my career. It’s like a hyper engineered Backbone.js. Working with it is so tedious that passionate web developers who

I’m on my way out. The endless mask mandates, with elementary school masking the most egregious, is getting tired real fast. The Bay Area has some of the highest vax rates and hospitals are empty, yet they’re psychologically draining us bef

Builds are all derived from the monorepo, but git makes sense for development as they have to constantly merge upstream git commits.

There are 2 separate issues. Reduce transmission, which it only does marginally. Preventing hospitalization is a separate matter and not really worthy of a mandate. Banning alcohol and fast food will save far more lives, in that case.

This is intensely offensive. US tech companies are banned, robbed, and defrauded by China. We have no chance to compete with them in China, yet they can come here and freely. Tiktok should be banned.

There are plenty of resources outside the company (blind, etc) to discuss this. I’m fine with banning activism channels. They erode morale.

Googler here: RSS is effectively dead. Most of the people working on software these days barely know what RSS is, so I bet they never even thought to document its deprecation. But RSS at every Google product is a redesign away from being de
