Since Zola has an image resizing feature and shortcode-snippets, this could be a nice way to automate things away (i‘d hate to slice pictures for X sizes by hand). Will have a look, thanks!

Sometimes a little bit of inline html within the markdown comments will do for me... otherwise: had been a great experience so far. AFAIK you can set custom variables in the frontmatter of the markdown files, your layout/template html

I do not really understand why it is _that_ slow... DOM Processing 743 ms Parse 493 ms ... I mean, it is just some quite light HTML and minimal CSS, right? what could possibly make your browser so slow at handling this?

Oh, wow. I have no idea, there is not much content yet, and zero external dependencies... maybe its the "anon" in the name? I mean, I even bought a Dotcom domain to look ok-ish despite my nickname :/

I just rewrote my personal website ( https://anonyfox.com ) to become statically generated (zola, runs via github Action) so the result is just plain and speedy HTML. I even used a minimal classless „css framework“ and ontop I a

Doing Elixir since 2016, deployed multiple Phoenix Projects to Production. Of you want to build dynamic web applications, phoenix+LiveView is imo _the_ best Option currently. It also keeps the promises: reliable (zero-maintenance apps runn

Many emotional language bashing comments here, and everything between „php is dead“ to „php is awesome now“. Personally I liked that php has an ultra low entrance bar: shared hosting for $2, ftp deployment, no advanced syntax to understand.

Has anyone here tried to use couchdb directly within an elixir/erlang OTP application? As like, „mix install“? Would kill for couchdb as a library!

Crystal it is. Combined with the amber framework, porting the Ruby Code should be straightforward. Yes stuff isnt even 1.0 yet, but I would seriously bet on it right now.

Of this happens, it will be the major turning point of React + JSX "winning" the frontend world. Another one is tooling, but the recent typescript Compiler can do TSX natively (no webpack config etc required). The last one is size

Sounds somewhat like the default culture here in germany: direct and blunt. Many foreigners are very uncomfortable with this attitude, but I think this is not "cold" but highly efficient and benefits everyone everyday AFAIK.

Since 2.1 ts is becoming a de-facto default choice for any serious JS projects I'd say. In conjunction with VSCode it really shines and makes JS sometimes even enjoyable... But there is an issue that quirks our team almost daily: the b
