It is curious to see how bash is mentioned everywhere, while the real culprit is the interaction between some web server and bash. Seriously, polutting ENV with HTTP headers? Admins should at least be able to block this. It should be possib

To be fair, nobody can say they weren't compromised. At best they can say "we did our best and couldn't find any traces of compromise".

Aggressive caching might not be such a good idea - if someone figured out how to create a collision, he could replace all those ga.js / jquery.js / ... calls with his own scripts. The attacker doesn't even have to be "ma

Great info, thanks! We are using MongoDB for single-server installations and it fits our needs pretty well. Our biggest gripe is that disk space is not freed when collections are dropped, but we can live with it. Other things are just minor

From what I understand, the keys stay the same - this is the whole point of this approach. So it's not a "new service". I agree that SHA1 should be deprecated ASAP though.

Doesn't really matter - it might (!) be legal, but it is immoral (if they really are paying by MB).

Wouldn't that also change the xor-ed instructions? That is, wouldn't the program behave differently?

Don't let it get to you - upvote and downvote are very close for mobile users. Here you have a +1 to compensate. :)

In that case you shouldn't sell. The buyer might promise you everything, but once the deal is done, he will make his own calls, implement his own vision. Microsoft can sell Mojang to EA the very next day if they want to.

One would think it is not in Amazon's best interest if their customers are vigilant in price comparisons. ;)

Well, I like it - a lot. It would be even nicer if the "Continue" button had a permanent position (and if I could use enter/space/pagedown/... instead of mouse), but I didn't notice that it was hidden between a

Is the proposed solution really the best approach? It seems complicated to me and relies on obscure parts of the language. Maybe the problem (compiler optimizes away function call because the result is no longer needed) could be solved like

Of course, there are quite a few stands for a mobile device, so this shouldn't be a problem. I am not sure I would want to have the "monitor" so close to my eyes anyway...

Depends on the contract - they agreed on 3 months. The core of the problem is that they didn't hire him for a shorter time (test run) / weren't able to use him for the remaining time.

Agreed, most of your points are valid and it is a precarious position for Mozilla. I just disagreed with the notion that their funding could be cut off this easily - even if Google retracted I'm sure they could reach some agreement wit

It could be a culture/language barrier - I am not a native speaker (and obviously not from USA) and it didn't strike me as callous (or even inappropriate) at all. Especially given the in-depth explanation above the remark. Interes

There is a slight point in founders' favor - sometimes when you need to get out and just get the stuff done, you don't write test for every non-essential piece of code. You also just copy/paste that controller, because you kn

Not true - they don't pay this money out of charity. I am guessing other companies with interest in having a leading search engine (MS and Yahoo primarily, but also Apple, Amazon,...) would probably be happy to take Google's place

Every DBA knows that there is no point in doing backup if you can't do the restore. Have they revived anyone yet? Even more to the point, why would they revive you? You already paid them.
