This is one reason I hate locked down hardware like iDevices, and the whole App store model. If there were not these central points of control such a thing would infeasible to implement. Banning a company like Apple from distributing an App

I agree for instance gcc's vector size attribute works just fine in C. For instance I could declare a type like this: typedef uint32_t myVec __attribute__((vector_size(16))); and then when using that type in C, gcc alot times will do a

Well we have only ever measured the round trip speed of light. Our current understanding of physics seems definitely imply the one way speed should be the same, but we have not been able measure it. If it some reason does turn out to be dif

This is honestly my biggest problem with Rust. C is a small language where the std libraries and language are defined in hundreds of pages. C++ last I checked in the latest standard was getting to almost 2000 pages. Rust does not have a def

Rust is not exactly a C replacement. Definitely the better choice these days over C++ in my opinion if you can use rust. It can be made to function more like C with #![no_std]. However that is an even less than batteries included experience

On most machines this days there is not really a performance difference between the math done on signed or unsigned integers. The only case would be if your wanting to the compiler to optimize on the fact that UB does exist. So like this in
