This post reminds me I have been meaning to re-read Asimov's Foundation series. If you found the post interesting and have not read it I suggest doing so.

Joel Spolsky said "get big fast" is a good strategy if you win by taking the market and "grow slow" is better if there is a hugely crowded market with lots of entrenched competitors but either way picking a strategy early on is really impor

When I worked at a consulting firm we liked a single rate. Don't paint yourself into a corner and waste your time by having a complicated set of rates especially if you are a one man/woman show. Take what you are considering as your highest

Really nice hack but as a PSA to others I would like to say this: Make it happen! Don't give up! Organize your view controller methods. Also don't let your view controllers start to look like what this post is describing. Don't throw everyt

I was under the impression that Plaxo was pretty much dead anyway - is this really still a large problem for people? Contact sync is not really an issue for me anymore. I can always just take a look on one of two or three social network app

Some nice stuff in here for sure but I would warn off the novice iOS develop from starting with this type of template right off the bat.

I've used this approach since gmail added supported the active sync protocol. It's work out quite well.

Well It sounds like you have already made up your mind. I still think you should finish your degree now while you are on a roll. We saw these kinds of quick boot camp style schools during the last dotcom bubble and a lot of people got taken

For one membership is quite cheap compared to other co-working spaces. It also has the potential to host very large group meetings outside of a corporate setting.

Finish off your degree. Domain knowledge is about 1000pct more valuable than what App Academy is going to teach you (That's nine weeks to get you started with iOS dev right?). I went the "Drop out and do it yourself" route 10 years ago and

It's really only required for iOS/Mac development. The hardware is solid and you don't often have to think about it but I think OS X is a hinderance and a time sink for serious programming work outside of the platform specific stuff. It's e

You could not pay me enough to stop networking and that's basically what you are asking me to do. Changing jobs comes with a significant salary increase usually (or you are doing it wrong) Agreeing to a deal like this would be foolish.
