I worked for a streaming media startup that partnered with old-line media parents. Parents killing their new-media spawn is by now well-established practice, and nobody should be surprised about the struggles of Hulu. The media giants depe

With this scheme, it looks like gmail is the source, and you can sync from gmail to other devices. Is that true? Could you go the other way, and have a standalone app be the contact source, then sync from the app into gmail??

Like everything except vundle. (I use tpope's pathogen) Pre-packaged vim on github is a very nice way to distribute.

I was a manager in the dot-com era, made good money then took a decade off to climb mountains and raise my kids. Now approaching 50, I've taken up programming and just loving it. Today's tools are incredible - I can do myself what used to

The guy on the video seems like a sociopath. I think his goal is to raise his profile amongst gun-rights activists. Politician in training. Thank god there isn't a 3d printer for viruses. (yet)

Between SF and LA, highway 5 is faster than 101. From SF you'd go thru Gilroy, then over to 5 via Pacheco pass, then south to LA.

It is fascinating that this low-budget warehouse space is worthy of NYT coverage. I have gone to a bunch of meetups at HD & made a small contribution to the fund - it is a great local resource. I'm just surprised that this inconspicuo

Yes - I'm using Gnome3 "classic". It is ok - just doesn't seem as configurable as Gnome2. XFCE might be good - I just don't have the time to figure it out.

There are lots of 'print bureaus' now that render metal. Anyone can do it. The raw parts can be polished, machined, etc. And the reaction is - abundant negative comments. Everything is amazing, and nobody is happy. http://www.youtube.c

Old-style marketing is where you run around to meetings and conferences, build relationships, convince people one on one. Old-style marketing is dead. I say this as an old-style marketer. Why dead? Old-style isn't repeatable, it doesn't
