Then this very interesting piece would never never come to my attention. Which is surely the worst outcome.

Aren't you taking sides in a fight without knowing which side was "right"? Or do you believe that loyalty trumps all other values? At this point I'm in danger of triggering Godwin's Law so I had better stop.

Yeah but that stuff was mostly pointless garbage before the advent of AI. Content farms, apps for endlessly generating variations of the same content, low wage and Mechanical Turk jobs etc etc. Maybe AI will speed up the process of making t

How about small select enclaves of people using generative AI? Or are they plebs by your definition?

Maybe the pricing is off? There's lots of things I'd use at $n but wouldn't use at $10n And the corollary of this - if open source didn't exist, the result wouldn't be me paying for lots more products - it would be

Sounds like we're agreeing with each other and disagreeing with the big SPA framework guy?

nb I'm not agreeing with your original hypothesis. However I'm taking about even lower down the food chain than this.

The "big" projects can do what the hell they want. They can afford to throw a ton of money at a problem. The small projects are where the people I care about are struggling.

There's a difference between a browser and an embedded webview. The latter shouldn't be logging into anything important at it's ripe for abuse - and basically training people to be phished by any app they install. I admit the

Of course there's always the possibility that ChatGPT is not being accurate here, but the explanation makes sense and explains some of the peculiar limitations of the new "all tools" mode. Later on in this conversation (after

AR Kit is Apple's thing. AR Core is Google's thing. Neither of those are Unity's fault. AR Foundation is a Unity layer to present a common interface. Which of my books is a good thing. Open XR is also an an attempt to make a

The syntax still seems much more pleasant for DOM manipulation than vanillaJS. It had a nice pseudo-functional interface and a ton of elegant helpers. Whenever I do DOM manipulation in vanilla I wonder to myself if the API couldn't be

DOTS was actually a perfect fit for complex simulations (and the article hinted that it probably had a positive effect on CPU usage) All the issues are around rendering and HDRP - which by the sound of things is still not properly integrate

UE5 isn't some magic pixie dust and Unity isn't a curse from which it is impossible to recover. Whilst some of the issues here are potentially the fault of DOTS and HDRP not being production ready (in combination at least) there&#

Me neither. "An elegant custom element base class" could relate to any programming language. I skim the page and see angle brackets - so it's browser-related. Great - but for what? Is this client-side, server-side? Does it re

I stopped bothering with obfuscation years ago when Gmail's spam filtering got good enough. I presumed it was mostly a solved problem now - albeit at the cost of false positives and the occasional need to go through your spam folder.

Webviews are particularly vulnerable though, being used for embedded logins for sometimes dubious 3rd party apps. Is there a reasonable angle to view this from? I personally don't think embedded webviews should be allowed general brows

In Unity you often use C# for some fairly performance critical stuff. That's one of the reasons they bothered with the Burst compiler, the Jobs system and native arrays.
