I’m certain the sea is as mapped as you can possibly imagine, cutting say 50% of cables would lead to a lot of Russian ships sinking and a ban on them entering western waters. Their equipment is absolutely shit compared to ours and we know

There’s loads more we can do but the Russian government might just collapse if they go too far attacking western assets. They know there will be a response “at a time and place of our choosing” and cutting the Internet properly will be extr

I’m sure they have a plan to deal with this and loads of NATO troops there armed to the teeth and air superiority so it will be shooting fish in a barrel. We don’t know what will happen but I’m not sure cutting the internet won’t affect Rus

The whole point of the learning from this article is don’t use hacks and make assumptions about what is happening. This is not for that, this is about how many clicks happened. You might get away with it but it’s not good code.

What is the correct way to check if you have a mouse click rather than a keyboard click? I would be tempted to set a module level flag based on what most recently happened - if there was a "mousedown" event more recently we'l

The World Cup when you’re 8 or 12 and not really seen one is incredible, at 40 it’s still great but I’ve seen 10 Euros or World Cup’s now and I still enjoy them, just not in the same fascination. Maybe I should try to see them through a new

“Kids don’t care about money” um absolutely not true in my experience, I know several kids (8 years old) and all they care about is cold hard cash or buying stuff on Fortnite.

You're imagining LLMs don't just regurgitate and recombine things they already know from things they have seen before. A new variant would not be in the dataset so would not be understood. In fact this is quite a good way to show

So potentially there’s a full text search case (?) for doing this but I’d always just default to adding documents like this to elastic search instead. I just cannot see a good use case for this and lots of bad ones.

I looked at it and initially thought this is a stupid idea to store PDF files in your database and I continued to think this is even worse when it uses files on the file system. If you want this, index your PDF files into a table when they

I am not sure that is true, does it not use more peak power but get more work done leading to less energy overall for say exporting a hundred photos because it finishes quicker?

I can see this but I think humans are much more random than most LLMs - they lie, they have egos, they randomly dislike other humans and make things difficult for them. Never mind body language, networks of influence, reputation destruction

If you are autistic (for example) I'm guessing human interaction can be extremely difficult and very stressful and triggering. Machines are much more amenable and don't have loads of arbitrary unwritten rules the way humans do. Ma

Even if people got pay rises they see the headline price of food (if they are poor) going up by in some cases > 50% as well as rents going up dramatically (ironically caused by increasing interest rates) and even if they got a great rais

Do you have any references for that? I think it could be part of the story but I still think printing trillions of dollars will make things more expensive, especially when you consider where this money went!

If you print money to pay for things generally that causes inflation, it’s one of the few clear facts economists will tell you they 100% know.

I thought Trump said putting tariffs on everything imported from China would lead to jobs coming back to the US? So Trump said it not me. It’s just an example of where this policy is unworkable is my point.

My theory: people are just hacked off that life is getting worse for most people while billionaires get richer and richer. Every disaster the wealthy get handouts while the poor have to pay for them. Government can no longer afford anything
