This is a popular view, but, again, does not match my experience. I have only lead small teams (say 3 to 10 people) of either senior or very intelligent and motivated middles, but for those, limitations of Go are not a problem in any shape

I write a lot of Go and used to write a lot of Swift. Swift is what you’ll consider a modern language (optionals, generics, strong focus on value types), while Go is Go. I appreciate both languages, and of course Swift feels like what you’d

Default gender male not how this works in practice. Instead, you define an extra “invalid” value for almost every scalar type, so invalid would be 0, male 1 and female 2. Effectively this makes (almost) every scalar type nullable. It is sur

Not to mention other super-important features like background blurring. It has very recently become available with in-browser solutions, but still not exactly on par, and with less options (e.g. no green screen support). That alone justifie

Hey, I got inspired by this and built https://github.com/andreyvit/aidev , it sends a slice of repo to OpenAI with a prompt, and saves the results back into files. It's in Go, and has built large chunks of itself.

Sorry, but that's highly unlikely. A better response is to reflect on the origin and the amount of un-obvious-ness of those storylines.

Sure, in any particular case, users could handle multiple options. But if you add multiple options in every similar ambiguous case, your phone suddenly becomes an Android or worse. And those who want that can already use Android; as someone

It is, of course, possible; any iPhone can be forced to enter the restore mode or the DFU mode (don't remember which one) and be erased/reflashed via iTunes. It won't get unlocked by that, because as soon as the new iOS takes

Their security PDF says that the system has a chain of trust established, anchored at an immutable loader residing inside the chip, and each step verifies the digital signature of the next step against the hardcoded Apple CA certificate.

It's not really built into ‘hardware’, it's enforced by the Secure Enclave, which is software-based and accepts software updates signed by Apple. It's secure against kernel exploits and third-parties, but not against Apple.

They state that they can push an update that makes brute-forcing possible by disabling software-enforced delays between attempts. Apple's security PDF says that the iteration count is calibrated so that one attempt takes 80ms in hardwa

My reading of that PDF is that Secure Enclave software can be updated too, it simply does an independent verification of the Apple's digital signature. So while the Secure Enclave enforces the delay between brute force attempts, Apple

Depends on your definition of a hassle. I am a happy user of Apple software, I love iTunes. I do experience occasional issues — AirDrop not finding peers, iOS asking for a password when it's not supposed to, iMessage failing to sync SM

I explicitly do _not_ state that it applies to React, because there's no domain logic in React components. (Or at least there shouldn't be. It is certainly possible to write a spaghetti component that would do everything.)

Actually, the issue with spaghetti PHP is not (only) string concatenation; it's mostly that view logic, domain/business logic and database boilerplate code are intermixed in a single file. React components only ever contain view l

Easy: in a market economy, your salary depends solely on how much a developer like you can be had for, not on anything else. So if you're a unique, highly sought-after expert, the country doesn't make much of a difference directly
