Building a TUI for ynab is pretty compelling, so I wouldn't say that's not worth sharing. If you could pull the data on terminal startup and get a budget snapshot each time you open a terminal-- cool.

Super compelling project. When I saw PlasticList, my first thought was how to get the results to create pressure on the food companies. The interactivity and investment of your project might do that. Best of luck.

This is a good call... o3 does plot data but its somewhat limited on the design side, as it just generates matplotlib code for a pretty generic looking plot. So the differentiator would be more granular design. Although now that you're

This is a super neat concept. I would find it really cool to be able to see a "map" of podcast topics, wherein I can click to specific segments in specific podcasts. Even cooler would eventually be the ability to stitch together c

Wow this is a really interesting concept. I have had many ideas for how to loosen the grip of the digital maelstrom on my brain. You're right, not looking at the phone in the morning is critical, and reading a few things on a page seem

I am working on a tool that lets you create data visualizations with prompts. When I was in college I really hated searching through all the excel and google docs menus to add trendline, change colors, gridlines, etc (and sadly I didn'

Definitely agreed on that last point, the eternal story of technology. I definitely worry about what the bad humans who wield it will do this time.

The personalization is a really compelling bit for me in particular. How much inefficiency is introduced simply because 20+ students at different altitudes receive the same instruction? My only concern here is data collection will go absolu

A few points. - how do you think assessment would change? As someone who didn't prioritize standardized tests bc my parents thought they were dumb, I was almost optimistic that very advanced AI systems could make assessment obsolete. I

Good question! I think adding voice and improving performance on the diagram draws are at the top of the list. Eventually I want to add different visualization capabilities like graphs and basic animation/simulation. But for the most p

My laptop was having absolutely none of that, basically couldn't run it at all. Pretty cool idea, though. For those on brave, you need to set the experimental WebGPU flag in here to try it: brave://flags/#enable-web-usb-

The point about end-notes being a mechanism to ease the strain of fitting tree-like ideas into a linear essay is lovely. It brings to mind David Foster Wallace's writing, which is obsessively end-noted and if you listen to his speeches

We're wired to yield to social pressures, it is what allowed us to create civilization. You're right, the energy spent to overcome it is well spent, but its not as trivial as you make it sound to be low-status and feel fulfilled.

LLMs and AI are cool and great, but I have my worries. And this is more worrisome than the most desired quality of LLMs being intelligence. Reason being is that its just another way to not have to deal with other messy humans. Technology al

When I was in undergrad I helped assemble parts of the detector for the LHC beauty project. Didn't understand a lick of the physics, I was just a lowly lab assistant. But it was still pretty cool. Thanks for sharing.

The problem with a maximum wage is deciding what that maximum is. Outsides returns are what incentivize people to start companies. A earning cap will cap that incentive accordingly.
