That the users even know something is an AIR app is an indication as to how broken that install process is. Compare with VB6 / Delphi / Qt / MFC - users who aren't themselves developers never had a clue. Just this week, the Paint.NET folks

The key to really getting this for me was: You may also want to remember that it is the barycenter of the Earth-Moon system that moves in an ellipse around the Sun, and that the orbits of both the Earth and the Moon are perturbations of th

People will always react angrily to pricing increases. About the only way to alleviate it is to weight yourself down with support for users on grandfathered/legacy schemes, and announce changes with enough notice to people to buy up at the

Have you considered supporting third party "packaging" formats for Windows? Some companies, for instance, have already done the work to package up their product for U3.

I don't see how firing someone after they've left their previous job behind is better for either the employer or the employee.

AFAIK, if you're not doing loads (well into six figures) of transactions, you don't need to get external auditors in. But there's a lot of work in figuring out what is required, and the penalties for screwing up are severe, so you may wan

I don't know where you're getting several hundred dollars/mo from. Customers obviously need to consent to the recurring billing upfront, but I'm not aware of requirements more onerous than those imposed by the credit card companies.

I think even if you convinced the Government this filter was a bad idea, they'd string it out for as long as possible to keep Senators Xenophon and Fielding on side. For non-Aussies: The Government, who holds power Australia's House of Repr

That interview incident has always seemed at odds with a subsequent book by the reporter - http://www.amazon.com/Show-Stopper-Breakneck-Generation-Micr... - which is quite a sympathetic view of the Windows NT deathmarch.
