There is a big gap between being able to create a somehow working application and shipping a product to a customer. Those claims are about being able to create a profitable product with 10x efficiency.

I guess copyright laws treat AIs as tools. If you paint a picture with a brush it's also almost entirely "brush created", and still you can claim copyright for it.

I don't think such datasets are going into AI training. But if this exact question keeps showing up in analytics data, and forum posts, it might end up in training sets.

AI is awesome for small coding tasks, with a defined scope. I don't write shell (or powershell) scripts anymore, AI does it now for me. But once a project has more than 20 source files, most AI tools seem to be unable to grasp the cont

This test is worthless in a few weeks, it's now going into the training data. Even repeatedly posting it into LLM services (with analytics enabled) could lead to inclusion in the training data.

My social feeds are full of tech bros who keep telling people AI codes everything for them. AI obviously has some impressive coding skills, but for me it never really worked well. So is this just an illusion they create, or is it really pos

I completely disagree. I love .NET Entity Framework Core. It's possible to build queries in code with a SQL-like syntax and a lot of helpers. But it's also possible to provide raw SQL to the query builder. And the top notch featur

I was completely surprised that the reasoning comes from within the model. When using gpt-o1 I thought it's actually some optimized multi-prompt chain, hidden behind an API endpoint. Something like: collect some thoughts about this inp

> The real-world application (and potential danger) is when this data is combined with other data. That's exactly the point. In this case it's only really possible to de-anonymize people who take long distance trips. But based

I think most EU carriers use geo blocking for VoWiFi. A lot of non-European carriers advertise VoWiFi as a cheap alternative for roaming. For EU carriers roaming used to be a big business (Europe is probably the region where most traveling

We needed to test the integration into the company CI pipeline. One of the requirements was to fully run it in a private cloud environment, maybe even without internet access (this was required for some projects for security reasons). PS: b

I was once involved in a purchase for SonarQube for a bigger company (around 50-200 developers using it). It was just a horrible experience. My task was just to evaluate the software in a smaller team, get some evaluation licenses and write

Another thing that bothers me personally with emergency vechicles at night are the very bright emergency lights (blue in Europe). Especially in situations where a lot of emergency vehicles are parked with the lights on outside city lights.

Is the 2-3 just for single frames, or does it already include all the tricks cameras can do to get more dynamic range? Many cars have multiple cameras and could (can?) run them at different exposures. Or run at a very high frame rate and ta

I don't know any PaaS solution that is not at least a magnitude more complex than a simple PHP shared hoster. As much as I hate PHP, the typical LAMP shared hosting is by far the most simple kind of PaaS.

That's probably the best explanation. There is no real alternative to PHP if you want to host cheap and simple. It's also really easy to deploy WordPress to a shared hoster, just by uploading a few files via FTP/etc and setti

I think there are also open source tools to get a Safari remote debugger working on Linux and Windows. I would prefer that over an app on the tiny iPad screen.

Great. Sadly I can't provide any more details, I have no debugger connected to the iPad to investigate the issue, it's a bit tricky without a Mac.

I really liked the concept of Factorio, but stopped playing after a few hours. I think one of the main reasons was, that it's really hard to visually grok the factories from the in game visuals. All the shades of brown and gray made it
