I'm wondering if this process can be GPU optimized. It's possible to rent really beefy GPU cloud instances for a few bucks per hour. <1 hour seems to be in reach.

Any tips on how to easily fetch the key length of DKIM-Keys from DNS? Just by looking at the DNS entries I can't easily determine the key length ;)

Technically speaking you can’t be late to your own wedding. If you’re not there, it isn’t your wedding. ;)

This vastly depends on culture and context. We consider it impolite, if you show up for an invitation at someone’s home before the time you were invited for. Many would say it is even impolite to show up less then 5 minutes late, and consid

Are those real ROM-based-systems, that could execute code directly from ROM, without loading it to RAM first? The only ROM-based-systems I worked with are the Atmel AVR microcontrollers. They don't need to load code into RAM for execut

I think it's either 8, 32 or 64 bit. Maybe 16 bit. The size of memory space is not necessarily aligned with the bit width of the CPU. There are a lot of 32 bit systems that can use much more than 4 GB of RAM. And there are no 64 bit sy

This looks a bit cumbersome to write to me. I really like the JS preview/rendering plugins for fenced code blocks in Markdown. For example Mermaid, which is supported by many Markdown renderers or IDEs. [1] It would be fun to have some

I can't confirm that. I have a few Logitech devices and they are still fine after years of heavy use (mx ergo, and master series).

I know this list, and I always came back to ingress-nginx after trying out an alternative. ingress-nginx works best for me, it just doesn't have HTTP/3 and it doesn't seem to be a priority for the project. I guess most people

The most useful thing for AI on an operating system level is in my opinion aggregation and summarization of data from different apps. And somehow connecting the different apps in a smart way. Like the iOS Shortcuts app, but with dynamically

I guess the point is: even fantastic AI products are often not useful to the majority of people.

I'm really missing HTTP/3 in ingress-nginx for Kubernetes. I guess most people use a CDN/Load Balancer in front of it. I didn't find a good general purpose alternative for ingress-nginx yet. ( https://github.co

30 years ago a lot of software was developed on 25 by 80 character displays and without multitasking. It also worked.

For me it's like: Oh, that solution is really smart. A few minutes later: Something doesn't work. 15 minutes of bug fixing only to find out the AI solution is nearly impossible to fix. Delete it and code it from scratch.

I don't agree. Copilot/etc is kind of worthless for me, it creates so many issues that I've never bothered to work with it. AI is awesome for solving issues, asking it questions about code, asking for possible solutions. But

That might be true, I've only completed it once a few years ago. But if you don't want to the more complicated parts, then you want to skip the last one for sure.

It also doesn't make any sense for most of the people to compete with the geniuses on the public leader board. It's like signing up for the Olympics as an amateur athlete.

No stars are required at all. You can also skip some days if you don't want to do them. Or only to the first stars. However you like. First/silver stars will also increase your score in the leader boards.

Is it an option for you to just move the servers to one of Hetzner's Europe location? I guess a lot of high bandwidth applications don't require low latency.

If you need long term price security, than you need to get a long term contract. The big cloud providers will give you that if you pay them enough in advance, but probably for at least 50 times the price per TB.

If you use 20 TB each month the price will be 25.39€ instead of 5.39€. I can't think of any business that would seriously struggle with this 20€ monthly price increase. Price increases are not a nice thing, but this one is not catastro

Thanks, this is really important context, I expected a link to an example video as the first comment. And yes, it's really bad. No idea how someone could think this could replace a human.
