Thanks for the constructive feedback! Many of our clients have tried lead databases like Data or Jigsaw and haven't found them nearly specific enough, which is why they come to us. There are a few examples in the blog post that are we

Thanks for signing up! We'll see if we can make it clearer on the front page. It's the former -- we'll be finding potential leads, curating the list, and emailing them using a variety of formats to see what works the best.

Nope, they don't -- users and leads are produced fresh for each client as a work-for-hire, and they're the property of the customer who purchases them.

We mean that lead lists aren't shared internally inside LeadGenius. All the work that's carried out is considered work-for-hire, and remains client property. It's more work for us, but this protects our clients who sell simil

Thanks, Austen. You make a great point -- below a certain customer point, paid UAaaS doesn't make sense! We try to help people determine their ROI for lead generation out of the box, but LTV is something that a company has to figure o

Sorry you had a bad experience! We always cheerily offer refunds or set things right when things don't work. I'm happy to look into this myself -- feel free to get in touch with me directly if for some reason this didn't happ

There's certainly more than that, but SDRs (as we call them) are a piece of it. Excellent -- let's chat further! Drop me a note directly.

Great question. LeadGenius is a product from MobileWorks, which was built as a "fair trade" virtual staffing platform -- a direct alternative to Mechanical Turk. Our technical specialty is finding and managing teams of talented p

You might consider looking at our earlier virtual assistant product, Premier ( https://premier.mobileworks.com ), which has a few small-scale options available.

Nope -- the reason is that you can't realistically research much information or reach out to many users in $150 of time. Figuring out and deploying a strategy to find and acquire users takes human time - it's very different from j

Thanks! Tech-savvy folks with great products and no salesforces have certainly been using us a lot, but we're also seeing more experienced and high-paid salespeople using us who just don't want to prospect on their own. To answer

This is a fantastic point. PG has hinted at this trend already in one of his previous essays: because companies get a shared set of awesome services provided by other YC startups (finance, HR, hosting, etc.), startups can operate as efficie

Lead research means looking through a known set of public/private data sources to figure out if a target user is reasonable for a service. Generally it's not cold calling to get data, although we've done that in a few cases.

The main use is definitely for non-enterprise leads, as long as you can figure out what kind of user you'd like based on a few qualification criteria. B2B prospects are much easier to obtain than B2C users since the segment is so broad

Thanks for the great questions! The amount of time required per lead varies substantially between different client types, so giving a cost per lead isn't possible between different types of users. (We've also found that compared

We're doing quite well, as it so happens. Paying fair wages means better work output, which means you can get higher quality results, and actually means lower total cost. It's better business than trying to scrape usable results

You should be using Clerky for a convertible note financing. It should cost you just a few hundred dollars total and won't require lawyers.

This is pretty much spot-on with what it's like to fundraise. RG is such a breakout star today that it's remarkable to see they went through similar fundraising adventures to everyone else in YCS11.
