Yet we also hear that battery production is a bottleneck and the reason why automakers other than Tesla are so limited in their EV offerings.

Yes, I have similar thoughts, though I guess worst case it's roughly the same as mining coal but without the CO2 (and other unhealthy) emissions of burning it. Downvoted? I was intending to express that even with mining the raw materia

I've used Motorola "Moto G" phones since I've had smartphones. My current phone is from 2015. They are low-cost, but seem well made. Never had any problems with the hardware. I've been happy with them. The downside

It seems to me that Apple could deploy iMessage and FaceTime versions for Android whenever they wanted to. The only reason they aren't is probably that they don't want to cannibalize sales of their own hardware.

650 mile range may not be as much as it sounds like. I'm not a pilot but I know there are regulations for reserve fuel. So you need enough fuel (kWH in this case) for taxi, take off, the trip itself, divert to alternate airport, plus r

It burns that fuel as it flies though, reducing weight which is important for landing safely. The EV aircraft will weigh the same landing as taking off, which presents some complications.

I never like to have the car running when I'm not in it. If it's low on oil, or overheating, etc there's nobody watching the gauges.

Only a few generations ago, healthcare was not so ruinously expensive in the USA. We've never had taxpayer-funded universal care. So what caused the explosion in costs?

The real cost is not so much in the hardware but in the certification requirements. Medical devices need to be built to and work at a higher standard than consumer electronics, for obvious reasons.

The people in the cities benefit from the things the rural people produce (i.e.food). Why shouldn't they shoulder the cost of at least some of the the externalities also?
