If you read the article you'll see that they made that assumption because they wanted a conservative estimate of the population and that's the minimum possible number for a successful species.

I quit using Google a couple of years ago because I was getting way too many results that were SEO optimized with no content. I was also tired of Google manipulating my search terms to provide what it thought were other good things to sear

Did they just remove the Google branding or did they remove the search engine branding? I use Yahoo as my search engine so my button says Yahoo! on it.

Palm also allows you root access on your device so that you can do whatever you want with it. With the new PDK you can use C/C++ (or any language that compiles with the same API) to develop your app and use SDL and OpenGL. With Verizon's

The sim is sometimes faster and sometimes slower. iPad apps using OpenGL are much slower on my MacBook Pro than they are in the simulator.

I don't think patents have to be defended like trademarks and even if they do Apple could definitely license the patents to people who pay for the developer program. I don't think this helps their case against HTC at all.

I think there must be more to this than is in the article. I think some of the Apple sample apps use and I've bought apps that use it. There's no reason for Apple to not want developers to use common gestures. They even made it easier wi

This is the way technology has always progressed. The first cars required extensive knowledge to drive and were completely open to modification. Modern cars don't even allow you to adjust the choke and the gas pedal isn't hooked up to the

I think the comparison between automatic transmissions from 20 years ago and modern ones is a good way to see why the iPad will work well for most people. Old automatic transmissions did have problems when you wanted to accelerate quickly

The free mobile hotspot feature makes Verizon my favorite carrier by far. That and the much better 3G coverage than AT&T make this a great deal even without considering how good the device is. If Palm could just increase the number of

This has nothing to do with Google Maps, it's just a video about how the earth's surface looked from 500 million years ago to today and how someone thinks it will look in 100 million years. Their prediction seems to be today's map with lot

That sounds like it might work. I've also started to consider the Zii Egg as a platform instead of trying for a Tegra based device.
