Performance-wise it's looking to be miles ahead of the ThinkPad X230's I daily-drive so I'm 100% on board (in addition to all the other gigantic upsides like open source hardware, repairable, LiFePo4 support, etc.)!

So awesome. Looking forward to being able to order one of these! There's no one else making computers like this, and I definitely want to not only personally benefit from the radness, but also help support them so they can continue to

Funny timing, I've been researching vacuum robots and found that they almost universally rely on some cloud/online service, even for basic functionality like mapping the floor/area, which IMO should always be local-only. Def

It's hilarious to see all the comments on the video[0] exclaiming at how advanced Photoshop 1.0 was. Indeed, it was a huge advancement in graphics editing at the time, and computers "back then" were capable of quite a lot of

It actually blows my mind how long this went on without any medical practitioners suspecting poisoning. The inexplicable vitamin D coming out of apparently nowhere? He had amounts in him that are basically impossible to have by any diet.

This line of thinking is very "yet you participate in society"-esque. It's disingenous to suggest that I explicitly "chose" ads when I dared to view a singular YouTube video out of the thousands I'm linked to

Notice how all the platforms you cite are profit-driven. Such crap is the inevitable result of any corporate-owned social platform. IMO try out Mastodon (and don't join mastodon.social) - find a community that seems like a good place

Yeah this case is definitely a stretch of the applicability of the term... It would be more accurate to say something like "canceling", "removing", or "retracting".

You can technically just get any ol' VPS and install the respective/relevant software on it. Just check that the VPS provider doesn't forbid torrenting/etc. in their ToS, I guess :)

Organic Maps is awesome. Just used it to get through the Tour du Mont Blanc (170km/105mi hike around the Mont Blanc massif). The app is not perfect, but it's constantly improving thanks to its community of devs. Def try it out!
