I'd love to hear from those of you who do web work for these types of big companies. Do they just not care about performance or are there other issues at play? I've dabbled with some small sites and would get stressed if the page

I was wondering about that as I read this post. Under US copyright law, this would be no different to MegaUpload.

Good work from Mozilla, but it won't help prevent those sites that pop up a HTML modal asking you to subscribe by email AND then a few seconds later pop up another HTML modal asking to send you notifications to keep you up to date AND

Curious to know why you were using VMware on Windows instead of Hyper-V? I would expect Hyper-V to be significantly faster than VMware.

The significant cost on Windows is due to having to spin up a Linux VM in the background, right? So the cost is probably more due to the VM than Docker itself?

Wow, I really dislike the weird scrolling/navigation behaviour on that site. Seems the opposite of "native" to me - more alien than anything.

This is covered in the article: "Procrastinators sometimes fail to get enough sleep due to bedtime procrastination..." I think the point the article is making is that if you want to reduce your procrastination, you should first tr

What's different between the way that Zapier connects to Gmail versus how IFTTT does it? Both appear to use the same mechanism, so I guess that Zapier will get blocked soon too?

This seemed obvious to me, in that I can't see why you would want to use Cloudflare as your Registrar if you weren't using their DNS services. I've always switched my DNS services over to Cloudflare as soon as I've bough

Don't forget that most of these sites have terms of use which explicitly bans the uploading of these types of videos. So even if you live in a country that permits you sharing it, you'll still need to find a site willing to host i

This is a valid use case for providing some level of security for sites that may not be able to host TLS certificates. The theory is that most of the threats that need protecting are on the client side rather than the server side. This isn&
