More importantly, you don't have to worry about fat-fingering an entry in your crontab and having everything from that point onward silently fail.

Check out Vaultwarden instead - https://github.com/dani-garcia/vaultwarden . It is written in Rust and is much lighter on resource requirements. CONTAINER ID NAME CPU % MEM USAGE / LIMIT MEM %

Similar experiences with Go vs Java and Python. One thing that has stuck with me to this day was how quickly I was able to write a proxy to distribute keys consistently across a set of Redis servers to break out of a bottleneck in an inter

I don't actually use the firehol scripts - I use the source lists with my own custom iptable/pf scripts.

On my internet facing hosts, I use the firehol level 2 and level 3 block sets along with blocking all CN IP space that I can accurately identify. My logs are eerily quiet.

My ex wife had a very similar problem and those were the exercises her physical therapist had her do. I figured I'd try them out and see if they helped me before going to the doctor about it.

I have a similar problem and just doing various stretching exercises daily with my arms paid off within a few weeks and made a huge difference in my quality of life.

You probably aren't missing anything unless you are doing ridiculously large amounts of backups. I'm using Borg as a disaster recovery backup of a backup server. Borg has issues properly maintaining the size of its local cache an

I had a very similar experience with Duplicati on a small (disk space wise) backup set but a very large number of files bloating the sqlite data store. I use Urbackup to back up Windows and Linux hosts to a server on my home network and the

Exactly. I will never trust Google to control access to my logins knowing that the Sword of Damocles (the Google "AI" deciding I'm a bad person) is hanging over my head. If Google did an about face and started providing reas

I really wish nouveau were in a better state. I have a positively ancient laptop with a 8600M nvidia chipset that just will not reliably operate with the nouveau driver. Instead, I have to use https://github.com/MeowIce

Yeah, that'd definitely do it. I'm really interested in knowing if people see that stat going up without crashing/power loss.

I only see that counter going up when a system hard freezes/crashes or the system loses power. I'm not sure macos recovery/install would cause that.

To this day, I still have a few applications that store important user configuration files via hard-coded "C:\Program Files\Publisher\AppName" path names rather than literally anywhere else.

Interesting, I'm currently running Windows 10 with a Ubuntu desktop in a VM and multiple web browsers open with lots of tabs. According to Ryzen Master, my 3900X is consuming ~25-30 watts. Edit: Libre Hardware Monitor shows package c

We had things like expandable container groups for UI controls that could auto-resize the child controls as necessary to fit their content back in the 90s. Granted, it wasn't as easy to set up properly vs modern web layout engines - bu
